Who is your Customer?

Customers have different definition in different environments and in different CRM systems. In an xRM environment like Dynamics CRM customers can be any of the following:

  • Vendors
  • Employees
  • Recruiters
  • Students
  • Patients
  • Suppliers

Entities Used for Customers

When dealing with Customers in Dynamics CRM you will be familiar with two records – Accounts and Contacts

Accounts:

Accounts are Companies or organizations that your organization deal with during business. It can your partners, suppliers, vendors etc.

Contacts:

Contacts can be any individual who are representing the companies you are doing business with. Ex: Purchasing managers, sales representatives, any other contact that you want to keep in touch with.
